Plugin Download #
You can download the “Destination Palestine” plugin from our main website under the Downloads section. Make sure to install and activate the plugin before proceeding.
Configuration #
Before initiating the import process, it’s crucial to configure the plugin to align with your WordPress setup.
- Assign Asset Languages:
- The plugin connects to the main server and retrieves assets categorized by type.
- You must assign at least one language (Arabic and English are available) to your WordPress languages.
- Import Options: Choose how you want to import assets into WordPress:
- Multiple Post Types (Default): Each asset type gets its own post type, with distinct categories.
- Single Post Type: All assets share a single post type in WordPress, organized under a unified category tree.
Importing Assets #
Follow these steps to import assets into WordPress:
1: Navigate to Import Page: Go to the import page within the plugin.
2: Select Asset Type: Click on the corresponding tab for the asset type you wish to import.
3: Filter the assets: Expand the filter area and select the values according to your needs.
4: Choose Import Method:
- Individually select specific assets for import.
- Import all results returned from your search.
5: Import Process: The plugin will import assets into WordPress, creating posts with fields such as Title, Description, Featured Image, and relevant meta fields based on asset type. Categories are automatically created and assigned to the imported assets. You will have to choose which languages to import if you configured more than one language.
Updating Assets #
Users can update assets using two methods:
Method 1: Reimport Assets #
If you want to update an asset with the latest data or if changes have been made on the Assets server, you can simply reimport the asset.
Method 2: Bulk Update from the Listings Page #
For users who want to update multiple assets at once or synchronize the entire assets, the “Bulk Update” feature comes in handy. Follow these steps:
- Go to the “Listings” page within the plugin. This page displays a list of all imported assets.
- Select the items you wish to update by checking the corresponding checkboxes.
- Click on the “Bulk Update” dropdown at the top of the page.
- Choose “Sync and Update” from the dropdown menu.
- Click the “Apply” button to initiate the bulk update process.
This method will update the data for the selected assets and remove any items that were deleted from the Assets server.
Embedding Content #
In addition to importing, you have the option to embed content without importing. Follow these steps:
1: Access Embedding: Click on the “brackets []” icon within each asset card.
2: Popup Window: A popup appears, listing all available values you can embed.
3: Copy Shortcode: Click on the “copy” icon to copy the shortcode.
4: Shortcode Attributes: Customize the shortcode using the following attributes:
lang: Choose between ‘en’ or ‘ar’ for languages.label: Display labels by setting it to ‘true’ or ‘false’.custom_label: Use your custom label (works if label is set to ‘true’).minimal: Display extra HTML tags around the element (‘true’ or ‘false’, default is ‘false’).height: For special fields like the map field.
